Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor Audio Review

Movie:             Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor ( ఫాషన్ డిజైనర్ s/o లేడీస్ టైలర్   )
Producer(s):   Madhura Sreedhar Reddy
Cast:               Sumanth Ashwin, Anisha Ambrose, Manali Rathode, Manasa Himavarsha
Direction:       Vamsy
Music:             Manisharma

Yesteryear's Ladies Tailor was a trendsetter in Telugu movie history for its crude adult comedy. This movie for sure has a cult fan following who can watch any number of times even when released today. Vamsy was at this best supported by Rajendra prasad who brought life to the character that he made it look like tailor made for him. He was supported by able screenplay and dialogs by Tanikella Bharani and music was super duper hit that had 4 songs composed by none other than Ilayaraja. SP Balu, Janaki and Sailaja does super justice to the songs that they were instant hits. Sirivennela's lyrics were superbly written to suit the movie scenes. All four songs remained classics. ( Gopilola, Porapaatidi, Ekkada Ekkada, haayamma )

A sequel is going to be made for this film was heard since many years, but finally it becomes reality. Vamsy has chosen to cast Sumanth Ashwin, initially when project was announced it was looked as weak casting, but visuals were released then they were ok. However movie will tell the rest. The plot of original movie was that if Sundaram who was tailor by profession, will be told by an astrologer that if he marries a woman with a mole on thigh his luck will change and he becomes rich. What he does to find and what happens to him in the end is the story told beautifully with rich backdrop of Godavari districts favorite place for Vamsy.

This album is composed by Manisharma. Has 5 songs written by Chaitanya Prasad (2), Srimani(2) and Srivalli. Srikrishna gets 2 songs and rest are shared by different singers. Manisharma is one who encourages maximum southern singers compared to others who make use of northern singers to the max.  Vamsy didn't have great hits past movies, Manisharma is very rare these days, Hero is not yet huge, with all these only story and music can make an album hit. Vamsy still has his own cult fans who can wait and watch his movies to feel classic Vamsy once he was known for. Lets see how the songs fared.

1. Paapi Kondallo
Lyrics : Chaitanya Prasad
Singer(s): Sree Krishna, Geetha Madhuri

No matter how many movies Vamsy makes, he cannot get away with Godavari/Paapi kondalu and cant resist showing it beautiful than before. Not many can see Godavari like Vamsy sees and visualizes. Pulasa is very much familiar with Godavari District people yes it is rare to get it. This song was first released on the web and set the expectations of the movie. Many felt Vamsy is back. Manisharma the evergreen melody Brahma comes with a good tune.

However, Geetamadhuri gives one of the worst start of a song. How could Manisharma allow that? Her voice in singing the phrases during start of song is fake and childish. Later on Mani I guess used auto tuner for her. On the other side, Sreekrishna excelled in this song and compensates the loss,he was accompanied by Chaitanya Prasad brings the beauty of Godavari area.

"Pinchaalu leni nemalini, manasuna sogasuga namalani". A different phrase used by Chaitanya Prasad. Feathers are the beauty of Peacock. Without them the beauty is lost. Looking at them for beauty and in mind imagining something wont happen the way the imagination would happen when feathers are there. Probably movie situation might explain better for the usage of this phrase. I might not be getting the right meaning just listening to the song.

A little bit more better singing would have made this song to be at different level. if one can skip the start and directly go to the song , this song will instantly hit the right chords.

2. Ravi Varma Chitrama
Lyrics : Chaitanya Prasad
Singer(s): Sree Krishna, Harini Ivaturi

Srikrishna gets another song only possible for Manisharma and Kalyan Koduri. Ravi varma chitrama then the lines are without names for the legends in the reference, might be intentional. Kokkokanne is a typical word not generally used in movie lyrics. ChaitanyaPrasad using subtle word is really good. First interlude is heard somewhere yet this song appeals like the first song. This is one of the strengths of Manisharma to give such songs.  Srikrishna and Harini didn't feel comfortable in second stanza, not sure what was the issue. A romantic song, everything kept simple and plain makes more authentic. Yet another decent song from Manisharma.

3. Anveshana
Lyrics : Sree Valli
Singer(s): Dinker, Malavika

This song is a routine song from Manisharma. Original movie had a super hit around luck and chukka, probably similar song would have helped to bring more enthusiasm in the movie. However this song goes like normal routine song without much to offer from anyone. Lyrics, tune, singers are just normal. Something is missing in this song for instantly to appeal. Probably a weak link in the album.

4. Meghale Thele Naalona
Lyrics : Sri mani
Singer(s): Sai Charan, Sahiti Chaganti
Additional vocals : Geetha Madhuri, Sweekar Agasthi

Can we say drawback of the song is that it appears as heard somewhere during the start of the song. Then the words in between the song lacks proper editing or rightly mixing in the main track. Somehow appeared out of sync. Saicharan strangely sounded differently good. The romantic voices in second interlude makes one cannot hear the song loudly.  Sahiti tried to bring in some accent few words. A song for on screen, not probably off screen.

5. Kanulemito
Lyrics : Sri Mani
Singer(s): Anurag Kulakarni, Amrutha Varshini

This song reminds of another song with classic touch, still has Manisharma's mark. Orchestration is good, Anurag does well and Amrutha's voice is different. Srimani is slowly emerging as a versatile lyricist. Hope he comes up with some surprises in lyrical phrases than some standard routine phrases. This song should work either ways on and off screen. Amrutam, Adharamrutam, after that there is a line aksharam, premaksharam, beejaksharam, then the answer comes as nuvvu lo, oka nenu lo doesn't sound right. Anyway this is minor but the song is good.

Pick(s) of the album: Paapi Kondallo, Ravi varma, Kanulemito

Repeating the magic of Ladies tailor in music or movie is highly impossible even if for the same team works together now. Even coming close is by itself a huge task. Names associated with Ladies tailor are huge, and here they are not. Trailer easily shows the style of making of Vamsy, fun, satires, comedy during first half and then crime/serious in the second half with interwoven story around the hero. Yesteryear album had songs that were hit and can be remembered for life time. However this album doesn't leave such impression. Manisharma did alright, but doesn't become one of all time hits. But given the actors, form, this album is just fine for the film. Glad to note is that Manisharma still can be reckoning and doesn't loose his charm. Visuals released so far also shows Vamsy still has something to offer.

Raarandoi Veduka Chooddam Audio Review

Movie:            Raarandoi Veduka Chooddam ( రారండోయి వేడుక చూద్దాం )
Producer(s):   Akkineni Nagarjuna
Cast:              Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, Rakul Preet Singh
Direction:        Kalyan Krishna Kurasala
Music:             Devi Sri Prasad

Naga Chaitanya is pairing up with Rakul preet for his latest offering "Raarandoi Veduka Chooddam". This movie is directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala who directed Nagarjuna earlier for his movie "Soggade Chinni Naayanaa". This movie has created enough buzz as Nagarjuna himself is producing on Annapurna Studios. Adding DSP to the music is also added to the movie.  DSP and Nag Chaitanya has earlier given blockbuster in their combination as 100% love. However that had Sukumar's factor as well. His other movie was Dhada, which was fine. This should be their third movie in combination.

Rakulpreet plays a village girl called Brahmaramba. She boasted about this role and as usual saying how lucky she was to get this role. DSP gets support from RJS, Srimani who has major pie in the movie and Bhaskarabhatla limited to a mass song. Singers are pretty standard. Lets see how the third movie in combination worked for either of them.

1. Raarandoi Veduka Chuddam
Singers: Ranjith & Gopika Poornima
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry

DSP starts the album with song that has good start to bring the mood for the occasion of marriage with some definition. RJS rehashes all the phrases related to two persons getting married to make up this song. Few phrases like "eppudo telisina chuttaalu, ippude kalisina snehitlu" , doesn't fit the description properly. He might be right technically as that phrase is concerned, but the imagination didn't appeal in the overall look of the song. Some how couldn't get in line with divilo kudirina dampatulu, then afterwards okati gaa cheseddam, aadeddam. Individually these phrases are fine, but overall something is missing to make it a good song. Singers too lacked clarity in saying words. Some phrases, as usual, the words which doesn't need elongation were elongated. Some words are tough to understand what they are singing. Ranjith and Gopika are senior singers its surprising to see that they forgot the basics in this song. Coming to the tune, DSP started off very well, but there after just played along the tune to make it simple. And he didnt get help from lyricist as well as singers. Overall a pretty song that would have been "Aakasam digivachi" type of song, but somehow falls flat instead of getting more appreciation from music lovers. Probably might work out better on screen with a good crowd bringing the mood of the song.

2. Nee Vente Nenunte
Singers: Kapil & Shweta Mohan
Lyrics: Srimani

Seems like a routing template song from DSP. It doesn't appeal instantly due to this factor. Srimani getting major share in lyrics, stuck to ultra modern lyrics unlike his other face of talent. What is wrong with these singers.. Pranaale panchivvaalaa, is very simple word to say, why they complicate it?? These type songs that expresses love, there are infinite phrases to express. Srimani uses every other option that he gets in mind to fit in the song. Some work out very well, some are routine. Not sure whether the tempo is little bit faster than needed until second stanza. Shweta Mohan stanza lacks freshness in terms of tune. Probably why this doesn't appeal.

3. Bhramaramba
Singer: Sagar
Lyrics: Srimani

Sagar gets a mandatory chance in DSP's movie albums, not sure why he doesn't sing anywhere else. Few songs fit his voice but many wont. Probably he sings better than many singers out there and for most of the types of songs like this, any voice is fine. The ending of each line is typical of DSP style, but it many times goes nasal. Not sure why DSP likes this style more as it is seen in many songs. The songs goes pretty ordinary and routine. Sagar too doesn't offer anything better or great. Srimani uses many verbs in English to make this song and those are mixed into this song. Chilling Nenu, flying nenu, Chatting nenu, walking nenu, setting nenu, drinking nenu, munching nenu, dating nenu song goes on like this. Once again nothing much to offer in terms of music. Another routine song, where Hero explains he is all for Bramaramba, Rakul's character in the movie.

4. Break-Up
Singers: Simha & Dhanunjay
Lyrics: Bhaskara Batla

Simha is another ordinary singer who has many limitations while singing. One song that went popular is getting him opportunities, but his limitations are quite visible(audible) in many other songs he sings lately. This song is no exception. Yet another ordinary template song from DSP. Bhaskarabhatla's talent is wasted yet another time. Sorry state for him. Probably a situational song. A song made for video remains like that, meaning nothing much to offer without video. Singing of singers is also pretty ordinary. Lovers meet, breakup then finally become one. Pretty much Standard in every love story. How this story is told is what it makes different. To explain that Breakup is not sorry state its festival, lyricist came up with a new definition that gives each of the alphabet a festival name. Anyways one more for movie not for music.

5. Thakita Thakajham
Singer: Javed Ali
Lyrics: Srimani

Normally DSP is very good at slow paced soft melodies and pathos. This song appears noisy somehow, missing the melody content. This is not typical DSP. He offered many such melodies, but not sure why this one doesn't stand along at the level of those melodies. Is it Javed Ali, Is it Srimani? or DSP himself, the magic is not just there at the level he created earlier. The squeezing/chirping type sound that accompanied all thru the song should have helped but guess didn't help the song even though its unique. DSP violins are his trademark, he does an outstanding job with them. We have seen this in many songs, this song too has something to offer. In-spite of expectations, the sing should be fine and should be embraced by the listeners.  Probably will grow slowly on repeated hearings.

6. Thakita Thakajham (Rock)
Singer: Javed Ali
Lyrics: Srimani

Rock version of the same song. This time the start is electrifying as it is rock version. Javed Ali sings the same way without much offering, so doesn't make much difference more over adds problems to the song with breaking words at his will. Srimani uses a good phrase saying "Kshanamu kenni rojulo naa pakkana unte nuvvilaa". These two versions leave a mixed feel as Srimani's some words are good, but Javed Ali kills them, then he sings well, but Srimani's words are not at the same level. The combination of three people somehow doesn't gel well to make it a great song.

Pick(s) of the album: Raarandoi Veduka Chuddam, Thakita Thakajham.

DSP probably could have offered better. 2 songs in an album is by no means his standards. Talking about singers is of no use as there are no options these days. This movie has created enough buzz so hope this fares well.
