1 Nenokkadine - Audio Review

Movie:     "1" Nenokkadine ( 2014 )
Music:       Devi Sri Prasad
Director:   Sukumar
Producer:  Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta and Anil Sunkara ( 14 reels )
Cast:          Mahesh Babu, Kriti Sanon

Prince Mahesh Babu is roaring high at box office despite mixed critic response on Businessman. He is saying that he is number 1 and he is only the one. Working with Sukumar and 14 reels set the bar very high. Fans are eagerly waiting for the audio after breif trailer that made fans frenzy to see their Prince as rockstar. The music bit from DSP set the expectations sky high. Sukumar is known for his fantastic sense of music and his combination with DSP never failed so far in terms of music. DSP surprisingly never worked with Mahesh during his decade long career. Mahesh after back to back movies with Thaman, I guess due to Sukumar, had to work with DSP.

Mahesh had transformed himself with physical appearance and with him projecting as rockstar, the film is expected as feast to fans. His tweets also support the same. DSP with Sukumar had set a very high standard. As said earlier, there was no equivalent movie interms of music after Arya2 in telugu industry. It might be a exaggerated statement but unfortunately lately the music directors and lyricists have let down the Telugu music to the lowest standards. Let see whether both Sukumar and DSP crossed/met/let down their standards with this movie.

Its all Chandrabose's show in lyrics department. But after listening to songs, it appears either DSP or Ramajogiah sastry might have helped in couple of songs. With theme of the movie being different, the album will probably not appeal broader audience. However if fans and youth are satisfied the music is sure shot hit and Mahesh will take care of the rest. Lets see how the songs fared. There are only 5 songs which means the formula is ignored, may be one of the mood is not required for this movie.

01 – Who Are You
Singer(s):  Devi Sri Prasad
Lyricist:    Chandrabose

The song for which trailer was released and revealed that Mahesh is going to rock. DSP starts this song with electrifying guitar bit, then claps and couple of introduction words in his own singing style followed by question "Who Are You", The supporting beats are going to move fans from their seats and go along with their hero. He provided a great start to the album and great start to the song. His singing was decent given the way he sings until guitar takes over in the interlude. Then DSP didnt add unneccesary shouts in between which makes this song much better to listen. In Interlude there comes the guitar proves DSP has really worked hard for this tune. This song without Hero on screen will probably provide 10% of the feel of the song. DSP provided an electrifying song after a long time. Its been a while that such song was heard in Telugu movies. Lyrics are not upto the standard of the song. Some odd comparisions/question marks, but who cares. Rocking song with rocking hero all that it matters. Even though Chandrabose is weak link for this song, definitely this song will rock and remain on charts for long time. Mahesh who is normally not known for great dance moves unlike his collegues, need to see whether he had something to offer in dance department other than his refined looks, package of physical presence in new rocking style. Whatever it is fans at the end of the song will say once more and while listening the song on the players will go in loop..

02 – HavnTuzo Mogh korta
Singer(s):  Neha Bhasin
Lyricist:    Chandrabose

DSP brings in a different flavor to this song. Havn Tuzo mogh korta seems like Konkani way of saying I love you. This is something female lead behind the Prince and the poster which caused controversy could be picturized as all things relate. Heroine behind hero in Goa, singing Konkani way and saying she is desperate for his style. DSP adds all different styles to this song which should appeal fans and youth alike. Neha Bhasin sang in Telugu mostly for DSP, her noted song was Niharika Niharika from Oosaravelli which is again by DSP. She tries to sing huskily, but that had become over dose with words. Heroine says rockstar nee style ki like kodta, DSP we will hit like button to the style of the song.

03 – O Sayonara
Singer(s):  Suraj, Manasi
Lyricist:    Chandrabose

After providing feast with first two songs, seems like DSP wanted to take a break. He provided a routine song, but in between he did something better to the song in terms of interludes. The rest of song goes as per routine DSP song. Suraj Singing was not upto mark neither in pronounciation nor in elevating song. He just did his job. Might be this song situation didnt demand much from DSP. Sukumar wanted a different theme for this song. Benefit of doubt to DSP.

04 – You Are My Love
Singer(s):  Piyush Kapoor
Lyricist:    Chandrabose

This song for sure is aimed at youth. DSP once again did perfect justice providing a very good melody. This song somewhere reminds the standards of earlier movie of Sukumar-DSP. However Piyush should have sung better to make this song even much better to listen and feel. DSP provided everything for this song. Any melody lover will get hooked to this song. Sukku-DSP are known for this type of songs. The lyrics could have been more powerful and singing could have been much better. If not for these two issues, this song could have made excellent impact and could have stayed much longer. Even then this song is really well made song by DSP.

04 – London Babu
Singer(s):  Priya Hemesh
Lyricist:    Chandrabose

Sukumar and DSP created sensation in terms of item songs. They created trend across the globe with Aa ante amalapuram in Arya. So obviously there have to be expectations that they have to provide one such song in their album. But this song misses everything and ends up pretty ordinary song. Priya couldnt bring the vigor, energy, seductive effect. Lyrics also didnt support the song well. May be since its Mahesh's movie things might have been done careful. DSP did provide some changes here and there but that changes are not sufficient.

Pick(s) of the album: Who Are you, Havn tuzo mogh korta, You are my Love.

Since this movies is made of different theme, having certain expectations of standards with the combination involved, it is very difficult for DSP to satisfy everyone. There are three songs which are clear winners and the other two are pretty standard DSP routine songs, This album will not be close to beating the standards DSP/Sukku set for themselves. However expecting every movie at a higher standard will be over expectations from the combination. DSP with this album proved that he needs right combination to bring the right talent in him. He is a rock star by himself and he didn't forget his main strength melody. Sukumar on the other side has been providing good albums and this one also will not let him down. This album appeals youth, fans for sure, However on the other side, there is a certain sect of listeners who are fan of Sukku/DSP combination. This album doesn't satisfy them as they expect the other two songs could have been better, even though they wont get disappointed. Finally what it matters is Mahesh and his fans got what they want,

Bhai (Telugu) - Audio Review

Movie: Bhai ( 2013 )
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Director: Veerabhadram
Producer: Akkineni Nagarjuna
Cast: Akkineni Nagarjuna, Richa Gangopadhyay, Kamna Getmalani

Bhai is the latest offering from Nag. Nag is trying to portray different characters and he is pretty lucky to have such variety at this age and time of his career. This movie claims to have too many female actors adding a lot of weight to the movie. His movie is coming with lot of expectations. DSP who is roped in for the music department is on high with latest hatrick he scored with Powerstar. He got few movies to his kitty this year and has been working hard in Tollywood. Nag and DSP's combination was good in past and this movie raised the bar of expectations. RJS and Bhaskarabhatla in lyrics department shows that this album would be youthful mass entertainer. Did he provide another hit is what we need to see. Lets take a look at the songs.
01 – Bhai
Singer(s):  Suchith Suresan
Lyricist:      Ramajogayya Sastry

RJS is perfect fit for this song. Bhai song has to be multilingual. Bhai and Playboy is it for rhyming the words or Nag character in movie is like that we have to wait. RJS tried hard to make sense in the song, but he cannot help himself much. "Mee Bratuke Bhasma" avunu Sir lyrics sangate bhasma mee chetilo. Mass and Class will never go away from songs these days even though they don't make much real/reel sense. DSP starts the song with tune being repetitive but adds some Arabic flavor in between. DSP's creativity is limited to that much in this song. Suchith Suresan just got nowhere with this song. He didn't do any good to the song by not providing any of his contribution. Since title song, Nag and picturization might help this song.

02 – Nemmadiga
Singer(s):  Venu Srirangam, Swetha Mohan
Lyricist:       Ananta Sriram

Now its turn of Ananta Sriram. He had the entire song run with his Prayasa of Praasa. Maaku enduku Sir ee pechi. Please continue with your free style of writing. DSP made this song simple. Rhythm is beaten up. But not making much hungama of this song makes pleasant to hear. Ananta Sriram helps this song with his lyrics. DSP tune again sounds repetitive with nothing to mention in this song. Just keeping simple is the help DSP did for this song. Singers are so so. Nothing to say about them. May be a duet on lead pair. Nag troubled Female lead for not able to provide dance skills. Is it this song? May be not.

03 – O Pilla Pilla
Singer(s):   David Simon, Rita
Lyricist:       Ramajogayya Sastry

RJS back again with another multilingual song this time a mass masala song. David Simon and Rita teared the song apart with their fake accent and unnecessary stylish singing. DSP Sir, please take care of this fake things in the song. This will not do any good. RJS Sir, why you are still stuck with Titanic Heroine? Since you write for youth, write some thing latest. This question to female lead that what you have eaten to be like that has been heard "n" number of times. I am not sure about the fetish lyricist has for this words. falling/bowling/roaming/perfuming/dating/nighting/waiting  RJS sir do you have any electronic dictionary handy. Do you pick words and write song around that? DSP provides another pretty ordinary song. Nothing much to say about it.

04 – Aibaaboi Nee Choopu
Singer(s):  Tippu, Geetha Madhuri
Lyricist:      Bhaskarabhatla

Bhaskarabhatla did exactly what he is known for Mass songs. The choice of words are not very good. His songs day by day are going no where. May be he too is out of words and got saturated. Geeta Madhuri's voice hasn't matured as a singer. Still voice is childish. On top she has some accent which doesn't appeal much how much hard she does try to sing. DSP just did another routine job. Tippu doesn't have much to do in this song. Nag's movie so it should have a "king" word in the song.

05 – Most Wanted
Singer(s):   Narendra, Mamatha Mohandas
Lyricist:       Ramajogayya Sastry

Seems like an item song as it has "Item" in it. RJS  attached different words to make it an item song. Mamata Mohandas sang fine, but her Telugu doesn't suit the song. DSP who is famous for item songs, doesn't live upto the mark. He doesn't provide yet another great item song, he seems to be lost here. He tried to add different flavors but doesn't have any impact so leaves the song not making a mark. May be this will click on screen as this might provide some visual treat to viewers.

Pick(s) of the album: Nemmadigaa, Aibaboi Nee Choopu

It is said that Nag claimed that the songs of this album are better than Attarintiki Daaredi which are also composed by same music director DSP. By saying so Nag might have been either dreaming or he never heard Attarintiki Daaredi Songs. Though it is not relevant to this music album, RJS and SSThaman brought the Telugu songs to the lowest level. DSP with this album is going in the same path by being repetitive, not providing fresh tunes and variety. The songs are pretty ordinary. Singers didn't do much in the album. Lyricists charged producer for writing something that they called it a song. DSP definitely is out of inspiration or lacked demand to provide good songs. Now its time for director and actors to support the move as music has not given enough support.

Ramayya Vastavayya (Telugu) - Audio Review

Movie: Ramayya Vastavayya ( 2013 )
Music: SS Thaman
Director: Harish Shankar
Producer: Dil Raju
Cast: Tarak (Jr.NTR), Samantha, Shruti Haasan

Ramayya Vastavayya is the latest offering from Tarak ( Jr. NTR) who had a decent run at box office with Baadshah, and Harish Shankar who is sky high after Gabbar Singh. Both working together with Dil Raju raised the bar in terms of expectations to a new level. Dil Raju is known for a good musical sense and his music has been always decent.

With the pace Thaman was going, seems like it was a break compared to the number of movies he was doing. May be he took a break after Media providing feedback that his music was repetitive. Thaman has worked with Harish Shankar with Mirapakayi, NTR worked with Thaman earlier for Brindavanam. So this combination of Hero, Director, producer and Music director is nothing new. The question comes whether they made it right again or not.

In Lyrics department, Sreemani (Aaradugula bullet fame ) gets major pie, supported by Sahiti and Ananth Sriram. Singers are no surprises, atleast Thaman didnt sing which is good. Lets see how this combination worked.

1. Jabilli Nuvve
Artist(s): Ranjith
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram

In Audio review one of the guest was complimenting Thaman that till now he had problems listening to words in his music, but this movie he was able to clearly hear the words (Was it a compliment or complaint?). But hearing the words just will not be enough. Some nice lyrics needs justice in terms of emoting the feeling of the lyrics. This song doesn't do that. The tune selected has no relation to the words. There by the song loses its charm.

The starting tune is again rehashed by Thaman from his previous movie, then changed the gear. Ranjith singing wise was fine, but could not get the feel of the lyrics. He had trouble with few words. Thaman gives a catchy tune and as usual his high pitch fascination doesnt go away. He adds all elements in between. With whatever the issues in the song, this song is already a hit. When this song was released on YouTube there were 1.2 Million views and about 10k likes. I guess every credit has to be given to the new look of the Hero and the picturization and the lyrics by Ananth Sriram.

2. Pandaga Chesko
Artist(s): Kay Kay
Lyricist: Sree Mani

Another Thaman routine song. SreeMani who got fame for "Aaradugula Bullet" song, had this song with rhyming  words ending with "sko" (స్కో ). So we will find all those words that song can accommodate not to worry too much about the meaning. There was a discussion why there are so many Hindi words making into Telugu songs. One of the lyricist explained that because of the tunes they are getting these days, it is becoming very difficult to fill in Telugu words. Hindi/English words has an advantage of fitting them so they are writing songs with more Hindi/English words in it. In this globalization everything is getting accepted. Youth is liking so movie makers don't have issues in continuing with this process.

Coming to song, Kay Kay has all the energy required for this song. Guess this song had got more pace than required could be that the Hero wanted this to showcase his dancing skills. The tunes/beats in second interlude is just typical Thaman. He never disappoints. Sreemani in second stanza uses "ted" in his praasa kosam prayaasa. Not sure why lyricists are so fascinated about the rhyming words forgetting about writing a meaningful lyrics that makes sense. Dont know who made festival of this song.

3. O Lailaa
Artist(s): Rahul Nambiar
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar

Full mass song, could be feast for fans with Tarak lending voice in between. Perfect template music of Thaman. And he doesnt deviate an inch of it. In the pace and beat of the song, సొట్ట has become సొట and రకరకాలుగా  has become రాకా రాకాలుగా and many such more. Thaman never gets tired of redoing his music. How many programs, how much feedback he gets he doesn't change, his music doesn't change. Tarak Sir మీరు ఏమి అనొద్దు అన్ని మేమే అంటాం, అంటున్నాం.

4. Neneppudaina
Artist(s): Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal
Lyricist: Sahithi

This song is touted as one of the best song by the director of the movie. He repeatedly said in each and every language he knows and in every program that the location were this song was shot, was never caught by camera. This song is so special to him :-) The visuals confirm that. This song (interlude) reminds a song in "Duet" of ARR, and other tunes reminds other songs, beats are beaten types. Harish Shankar told that he got this song composed quickly because of location and Thaman's turnaround for this song is pretty quick. Obviously, if he rehashes, it can be done in an hour or so. Thaman has redefined the definition of music and this song proves that. His fascination towards high pitch and the variations he provides in that is what he is about.

Shreya Ghosal inspite of singing over a decade in Telugu doesn't know the how to pronounce రవ్వంత, మువ్వంత, గువ్వంత. No matter how great she sings, how melody her voice is, if one lacks dedication to sing a song properly, then there is the turn off for the song. This is the difference between yesteryear singers and current generation singers. This generation never got the singing basics right. Shankar Mahadevan is right fit for this song and he does perfect justice. Of course he provides unnecessary improvisations which worked only at times. The chorus was much more pleasant to hear. This song will definitely get help from visuals.

5. Kurrayeedu
Artist(s): Shankar Mahadevan, Suchitra
Lyricist: Sree Mani

Another template music from Thaman. Sreemani could do whatever he can in his limitation of the tune. But unfortunately had to hear all types of non-sense words. Suchitra sounds exactly like other songs of Thaman and for a minute we go back to that song. Shankar had to strain in this song. Thaman should have taken care of this. Another songs for the Hero to make his dance moves. Since hero will engage the viewers how this song fares doesn't matter.

6. Idhi Ranarangam
Artist(s): Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar, Naveen
Lyricist: Sree Mani

SreeMani after Attarintiki Daaredi gets another title song. As he has done in other song, he uses good words but overall looses the flavor to make them togather for a feel good song. The words individually sound good but somehow confuses listener when put togather. Thaman as usual reuses the song#4 and gives the pace and energy, but as one of the guest said, we cannot hear words so clearly when the song is made in hurry and sung in a hurry. I dont understand why all title songs have to be fast paced, high pitch and super fast beats. Anyways thats how music is made these days.

Pick(s) of the album: Jaabili Nuvve, Nenepudaina, Idi ranarangam  ( taking away issues from the songs )

One of the guest who spoke in audio release function exaggerated during his speech that the songs of this movie are here to stay for 100 years. I really doubt these songs will stay more than 100 days or even till the movie ends its run at box office. Thaman inspite of media feedback, doesn't change. The music of this movie is exactly "As it is". His template music doesn't change, his rehashing/re-using tunes doesn't change. The only change was that he doesn't add sound effects to the singers voice which is replaced by high pitch singing. When the music definition is changed, the definition of success is also changed and this movie is success for all those who redefined these terms. Wish the film team a success run at box office as Dil Raju is known for it.

Attarintiki Daredi - Audio Review

Movie: Attarintiki Daredi ( 2013 )
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Director: Trivikram Srinivas
Producer: BVSN Prasad
Cast: Pawan Kalyan, Samantha
Power star Pawan Kalyan is a rage among fans. After Gabbar Singh, he got a great place in the film industry and fans. He is working with Trivikram again after successful combination in terms of Jalsa. When this combination is working again after Gabbar Singh, the sky is limit for the expectations. Pawan's movies have been consistent enough providing good music, whether be it Ramana gogula, DSP or some one else. DSP and Pawan are on a hattrick with their past two movies were successful in terms of music. Trivikram who is known for his sensible dialogs have been good at lryical department extracting good songs and tunes for them. This movie has 6 songs, one is a bit song and rest all made for Pawan. RJS gets major share in songs as one song goes to Sree Mani and other to DSP himself. Surprisngly Trivikram leaves out Sirivennela from this album. They both share a different relationship. It would have been nice if Sirivennela would have written a song. Singers are different than routine. Malgadi Subha is recalled. Surprisingly DSP writes, composes and sings a song.
Lets see how songs are made, whether it is strictly for fans or everyone in general.

1) Aaradugula Bullet
Singer(s) : Vijay Prakash , M.L.R Karthikeyan
Lyrics : Sree Mani

Power Star movies needs to have a power ful intro song. Till now he succeeded in providing great songs that have lyrical values, powerful singing, energetic tunes and electrifying songs. This song was tuned differently by DSP without missing any trademark standards of Pawan Kalyan. This song is brilliant at times in terms of lyrics and falls flat at others. Vijay Prakash, MLR karthikeyan sang the song just the way the song demands. DSP, Pawan, its only sky is the limit for picturisation for Trivikram. If he make great justice this song will remains for a while. Its definetely a power packed song. DSP gets full credit for this song for correctly mixing everything in right proportions and not going overboard, over loud.
Coming to the lyrics, the intro line of the song sounds powerful when the lyricist says, This line appears for a moment great and powerful with tune and singing, however this line on whole not sure what lyricists wanted to say. The same is with the lyrics overall. The words are there but overall confuses a little bit.  Lately the lyricists give the impression is that they are good in pieces, but definetely lack the full package to make a mark.

2) Ninnu Chudagane
Singer(s) : Devi Sri Prasad
Lyrics : Devi Sri Prasad

DSP has written, composed, and sung this song, which is itself an achievement. However writing a song is no big deal lately as the significance of lyricist of the songs has gone down pretty much in a song. If some one can write some words instead of humming a tune, people will croon some words. Thats all a song is about lately except few. However DSP cleverly mixes some right words and makes it better but the lines like "చీర కట్టి చిందు లేస్తే చీమలా నేను వెంట పడనా and then "కృష్ణ రాధలా నొప్పి బాధలా ఉందాం" as with other lyricist, only DSP knows what he wrote in the song.

Then since he wrote he did good justice in terms of tune and sung it with care. Whenever he thought he has issues, he got support interms of instruments or chorus. But still he cannot be a better singer as he was reckless at places and dull at other. Some one says, Once more with feeling? If at exists he can provide, but thats just something we cannot take it seriously. The saxophone was good. This song is longest in the album, How come "Attaleni kodalu" came in between? Whatever it is they sang it better. These type of songs prove why they are classics. Then the song changes its pattern filled with energy. Though he said Telugu bhaasha lo padaalu, he song and wrote. Even with these issues, this song has "sarasam", kypu, mattu and kavvimpu which should impress on the screen.

3) Deva Devam
Singer(s) :  Palakkad Shreeram , Rita
Lyrics : Rama Jogayya Sastry

DSP shouldnt have made Shreeram struggle, he should have made him sing in his comfort zone. MS voice is bliss, what is the context of using this and modifying it a little bit not sure, movie might tell.

4) Bapu Gari Bomma
Singer(s) :  Shankar Mahadevan
Lyrics : Rama Jogayya Sastry
DSP starts the song with a tune that sounds yesteryear tune, Then Shankar adds his voice. Ramajogayya sastry tries to explain heroine as bapu gari bomma, but with further description goes no where close to how a bapu bomma would look and feel. Shankar Mahadevan inpsite of singing in Telugu more than a decade and having at one time more songs than any one, it is sad to see he still struggles to sing proper Telugu. That shows these guys dont have dedication the yesteryear singers have. vidyut teega, poyinanta dooram, oohallo and many more are surprisingly hard for him. Why are these singers paid hefty amount to sing whatever they want only producer/director and the team should know. This song reminds a bit of Nuvvostanante nenoddantaana just a coincidence. DSP plays safe with this song, he uses clarinet which goes well with the song. The beats add to it and overall this song passes with average marks.

5) Kirraaku
Singer(s) : Narendra , David Simon
Lyrics : Rama Jogayya Sastry

I thought Kirrak is just as it is, kir raaacku is tailer made for Power Star I guess. Kir raacku is used for keka by RJS. Anyways DSP tried to be different in this song. David Simon rap and Narendra combination worked out well, except Narendra's nasal ending for each line modifying the end should have been done well. The interludes are an extension of few other songs of DSP. The instrumentation for Kirrack starting is foot tapping. RJS is at his peak in his multilingual lyrics. Glaad that this song by saying kirraku puttinchaavu, didnt get the listeners feel chirraaku puttinchave DSP. This song if aided by Pawan, will fare very well.

6) It’s Party Time
Singers : David Simon , Malgadi Shubha
Lyrics : Rama Jogayya Sastry

Good to see Malgadi Subha again. This song might be for the forgotten actress called after 12 years. When on one side, Malgadi sings effortlessly, other side, David tries to impress with many voices like Adnan, Udit, DSP and other, but his hardship doesnt work. DSP was soft in this song, without adding too much energy and vigor. The beat was fine, the rhythm was fine, but sounds routine and heard else where.
Pick(s) of the album: Aaradugula, Ninnu Choodagane, Bapu gari bomma and the rest all for fans.
DSP and Pawan scored a hattrick. This songs are much better than DSP's last album. The trio DSP/PK and Trivikram worked out once again. Singers could have put more effort to make the songs even better. Ramajogayya Sastry has written almost every song except the intro song. He didnt deviate much from his multi-ligualism. At a stage where everyone is saturating and getting their tunes reused, this album is a relief. Though DSP all togather didnt provide all refreshing tunes, he was better than before. Even though Pawan's movies is all about himself, songs are just an appetizer for his hunger filled fans who never get tired to see him on screen and are waiting for him. All the best to the team.

Yevadu - Audio Review

Movie:         Yevadu (Telugu - 2013)
Producer:    Dil Raju
Cast:            Ramcharan, Shruthi Haasan, Amy Jackson, Allu Arjun, Kajal Agarwal
Direction:    Vamsy Paidipally
Music:          Devi Sri Prasad

With all big names in the industry, another movie is coming up with Ramcharan in lead pairing up with Shruthi Haasan. Obviously the expectations roared upto sky when Dil Raju has taken the control and working with Ramcharan for the first time. Infact DSP also is working with Charan for the first time. It was said initially Samantha was chosen to be the female lead but later on when she backed out of this project, it was Shruthi Haasan. Allun Arjun and Kajal playing cameo as per director is very critical for the movie. If both Ramcharan and Allu Arjun shake their legs togather, then fans will go crazy and that would be more than enough for them to watch the movie. DSP composed 6 songs for this movie with Ramajogayya Sastry taking lead with 2 songs and rest like Sirivennela garu, Krishna Chaitanya, Sri mani and Chandrabose writing a song each. DSP's last hit for Mega family was Gabbar Singh though he worked with Allu Arjun for Iddarammayilato and Julayi they didnt make huge impact than Gabbar Singh. Lets see whether he strikes gold again for Mega family with his latest offering Yevadu.
1. "Freedom"
Lyricist: Krishna Chaitanya
Singer(s): Suchith Suresan
DSP starts the album with a perfect routine song which offers nothing for listeners. Seems to be the initial or intro song for Hero. The interlude techno sounds are becoming common these days. Not sure what is so fancy about it. In the name of youthful music, we are introducing some sounds into songs which doesnt go good with Telugu songs. Krishna Chaitanya comes up with some words and ends with మాదే. Else what would it mean when they say వేదం వేగం  మాదే. Suchith Suresan was a not upto mark in singing this song, he lacks energy, clarity. "Freedom" said by chorus is standard DSP types, and then as we hear the song and go along with it,  at a later time in the song when Freedom was said it was total unpleasant to ears. We would end up thinking after listening the song, oh what a freedom the song ended soon.
2. "Neejathaga"
Lyricist: Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry
Singer(s): Shreya Ghoshal, Karthik
Once again Sirivennela stands out in lyrics department. This one song tells why he is where he is. There is nothing complicated in lyrics, with simple words, he weaves magic. What a thoughtful lyrics. Sirivennela garu please keep wiritng the songs atleast once in a while. We cannot afford to miss this magic. DSP known for his melodies, has given perfect justice to the tune. The interludes sync perfectly with the tunes. This song is far better than the earlier one. Shreya Ghoshal and Karthik did their job well. The only flip side is Karthik pronounciation of "చ" was very odd and full of fake accent. Inspite of singing so many years and so many songs, still if these seasoned singers sing like this not sure how others can sing? whatever it is DSP/Sirivennela steal the show to provide a magical melody.
3. "Ayyo Paapam"
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry
Singer(s): Ranjith, Mamta Sharma
Multi lingual is synonym for Ramajogayya Sastry. Standard Item song from DSP. Aimed at fans/mass and they will have merry of it. DSP/RJS and team needs to be commended for getting a key word that songs revolves around. We cannot analyze this songs for lyrics singing, and breaking words. DSP cannot create wonders with each item song it is pretty much clear from this song. This song is DSP trademark. Charan got the dance number every one will enjoy thats what it matters.
4. "Cheliya Cheliya"
Lyricist: Chandra Bose
Singer(s): KK
This is touted/hyped as song of the year. The grandeur in the tune while starting this song doesnt continue where it started. As this song doesnt offer freshness, this song falls apart. Then KK doesnt sing to the extent that this song makes a mark. The lyrics and tune doesnt match. He adds extra emotion, stress, voice to the words, there by lost the feel. Lyrics and tune sound better separately but doesn't gell well. This song has brilliance in flashes, but overall cannot be an instant winner. Chandrabose's lyrics are not that effective. Lines like these didnt appeal well. Leaves us to feel there is something missing. Overall DSP tried something different, but didnt work very well because of above reasons.
5. "Oye Oye"
Lyricist: Sri Mani
Singer(s): Andrea,David Simon

Song has become something between Rap and Reading. This is perfect example of unfortunate changing trends in Telugu music. With these trends one cannot offer different and everything sound same. When you say Aha, Oho, how many different types one can say. This song is easily made by DSP without any effort. May be visuals add some value to this song. As beats suggest, there is a dance number in offer.

6. "Pimple Dimple"
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry
Singer(s): Sagar, Ranina Reddy

Waiting for Ramajogayya Sastry to write a Telugu song is something like wanting water in desert such a rarety to find. Again DSP offers a song that is heard somewhere. Sagar and Ranina Reddy whatever they do to this song, doesnt really matter as it has nothing special in it. DSP tried some thing different in interludes and offer some mass beats to help the hero. Other than that this is another perfect routine song.

Pick(s) of the album: Neejathaga

Fans might like: Cheliya, Ayyo papam, Freedom.

Even though DSP also got lost in providing youthful, trendy and catchy music that appeals masses, he still holds on to what he is known for with "Neejathaga" perfectly supported by Sirivennela. Else this movie album proves the down trend of DSP and Telugu music in general. The songs of this movie might not appeal but they dont irritate as lately the movie songs are making us to. Dil Raju's mark music is totally missing. DSP and Dil Raju has produced wonders and they clearly missed their magic in this album. May be its Charan effect to satisfy his fans they had to take this route which obviously didnt work. Mainly when any music appears repetitive, there ends the road for the album. Hope Telugu Industry recognizes this.

Balupu (Telugu) - Audio Review

Movie:      Balupu (2013)
Music:      SS Thaman
Director:   Gopichand Malineni
Producer:  Prasad Vara Potluri
Cast:          Raviteja, Shruti Haasan, Anjali

Mass Maharaja Raviteja is low at box office these days, Known as minimum guarantee hero, he is missing that guarantee. He is trying hard to restore his success which is due for long time now and everyone along with him is hoping that he will achieve success with this movie "Balupu". He teamed up with producer Prasad Vara Potluri  under PVP Cinemas banner and directed by Gopichand Malineni and female leads as Sruti haasan and Anjali to get this "Balupu" out of him. Music department owned by SS Thaman which doesnt come as surprise as Thaman with this trendy, youthful music is attracting everyone. Any with Raviteja who expects couple of mass tunes, seems like there is no option for the makers.

One song less than the traditional number of songs of 6, Bhaskarbhatla took the lead writing the songs, supported by Sirivennela and Ananth Sriram. Singers are pretty much the team with whom Thaman keeps working with. Raviteja was made to say couple of dialogs and croon a tune.

Lets see how "Balupu" songs did.

1. Kajalu Chellivaa[3:54]
Artist(s): Ravi Teja, S.S.Thaman
Lyricist: Bhaskar Bhatla
Thaman opens up the album with his trademark song. The beats, tune and singing style everything is exactly same. The only difference is Raviteja added his voice to this song along with Thaman. Bhaskarabhatla to rhyme with Kathi, made the name of Katrina Kaif as Kathirina. Rajamouli with Thaman singing and tune has made him rajamalli. When music director and singer are the same, and these issues exist, we cant help ourselves. The energy exists in the form of beats and Raviteja. The sound levels in the second stanza are low, but doesnt effect the song much. Guti Billa, golikaya kaadedi song ki anarham.

2. Yaevaindho[4:03]
Artist(s): S P Balasubramaniam, Geetha Madhuri
Lyricist: Sirivennela Sitarama Sastri
After greekuveerudu another song with SPB. But somehow this song doesnt appear very pleasant to hear. SPB voice surprising not good when he said "Atu itu tirugutu emayyindo elaa". Something is missing in SPB when he sang this song. His energy levels were low and strained at few places, the beat that accompanied his voice made it worse I guess. Sirivennela's trademark is all there. I really wonder how can he be so consistent in the quality which never degrades. Where is Geetha Madhuri in this song? May be she was the one who was humming at the end. Thaman did his best, but somehow this song doesnt leave a good feeling.

3. Lucky Lucky Rai[3:52]
Artist(s): Naveen Madhav, M.M.Manasi
Lyricist: Bhaskar Bhatla

Again Thaman comes up with his standard beats and singing style. He has consistent style of making singers sing. If they sing a line, in starting the voices start with their normal pitch, that gets elevated halfway thru to new pitch and then he adds his effect to the high pitch voice and ends there. His beats are common and he doesnt change most of them as he cannot create new ones. With this pattern every song appears as same. Not sure how can he avoid that feeling for listeners that he sounds the same whenever he does mass song or energy based songs. And in between the songs arent refreshing they remind one or other tune. But lately people are getting more into the name of trendy, youthful music and feel Thaman is best at it. This song is perfect example of the above. Bhaskar Bhatla is Telugu version of Ramajogayya sastry who not as multilingual as the later.

4. Padipoyaanila[3:07]
Artist(s): Suchith Suresan, Megha
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram
Ananth Sriram garu, chedipovadamenti saru, No female will say I am spoiled. Choopu ki Praasa kosam ammayi chedipoyaanilaa analsindenaa? padipoyaanila is breaked into "padipo" with a space then "yaanila". Thaman could have tuned it to sound one word. Then Suchith Suresan was hiding when he was singing, He should have opened up while singing so that he can be heard. Megha did a decent job. The tune that is repeated is catchy and the rest of the song goes fine.

5. Pathikella Sundhari[4:00]
Artist(s): Mika Singh, Ranina
Lyricist: Bhaskar Bhatla
Typical song of Thaman for Mass Raja, Ranina and Mika Singh who are regular singers lately. This song is debated whether its inspiration of one or two Hindi songs. Any insipiration/copy should be unintentional :-). Mika Singh in total in 2013 sang 5 songs (wikipidea) out of which 2 are in Telugu, 2 Hindi and one Marathi. This shows how these singers are making merry in Telugu because of our fascination towards these singers. What we different we get with these singers only the film industry biggies should tell us. Regarding the song nothing much to say.

6. Hello Boys And Girlsu[0:57]
Artist(s): Ravi Teja
Lyricist: Bhaskar Bhatla

The start of the Kajal chelliva was made as separate track I believe. Raviteja's style of dialogs written and sung. Mass raja fans will have fun with this track.

Songs for Raviteja's movies generally are beat and mass oriented. Thaman within his capabilities and rigid pattern, met the expectations of the movie, Raviteja and his fans. Though he is still long way to impress the critics, and change his pattern to impress general audience ( This doesnt matter these days). He is exactly doing what needs to be on top and cater the movie makers needs, there by becoming successful movie music maker. There ends the matter.

Mallela theeramlo Sirimalle puvvu - Audio Review

Movie:      Mallelatheeramlo Sirimallepuvvu (2013)
Music:      Pavan Kumar
Director:   Rama Raju
Producer:  Uma Devi
Cast:          Kranthi Chand, Sri Divya

Touted as bold romantic cinema, yet another movie with Malle poovu as title brings curiosity in movie enthusastics. The title is different as is the movie. With SVSC, another sirimalle in title to attract viewers. All new names attached to this movie atleast for me and its my ignorance. The music in trailers generated interest in the movie and music.

This album has 10 songs out of which 5 are theme/instrumental. That shows that this album has completely movie situational based songs/music.

1. Matakandani[4:50]
Artist(s): Nithya Santhoshini
Lyricist: Uma Maheswar Rao

Nithya Santoshini a very well known singer starts the album with a slow melody. There is so much clarity in the music makes instantly listenable. Nithya Santoshini steals the limelight, good clarity in words, ఇంద్రధనసు was said so perfectly, which is missing lately. The violin accompanies the female singer so nicely this is one of the decent melodies recently heard. Lyrics are just perfect. Uma maheswara Rao will definetely make a good mark with this movie. Such a nice romantic song, the feel is good makes a feel good song.

2. Nee Needana[3:09]
Artist(s): Pranavi
Lyricist: Uma Maheswar Rao

Song starts with a nice humming accompanied by chorus and veena. Its been a while that we heard this instrument in songs. Another complete female singer song. Seems like the songs are made with a particular theme. Veena brings very good feel. Once again lyrics pretty much suits the mood of the song. Pranavi did a decent job with bringing in right feel and emotions.

3. Alaa Chandamaamanai[1:56]
Artist(s): Karunya
Lyricist: Uma Maheswar Rao

Hearing Karunya after a gap. His did complete justice to song and lyrics. His voice is as usual melodious. Unfortunate that this talent is getting wasted with not much chances. Paadi Roju laalini words didnt go well as it was heard paadi (paadi pantalu- cattle related) instead of paata paadatam (singing). It should have been   రోజు లాలి పాడనా instead of పాడి రోజు లాలినే .  I think lyricist was more particular about Praasa as the next line is ends with జాలినే. Anyways all nice and sweet things are always short in life. This song too. Leaves a good feeling and disappoints for being less than 2 minutes. Our fascination towards Moon is once again clear. As the song ends, we get lost in our imagination. This song has one of the decent endings of the songs compared to what we hear lately.

4. Mabbulu Kurise[5:57]
Artist(s): Kranthi
Lyricist: Uma Maheswar Rao

This song is another well made melody. However Kranthi could have been better when she says "santosham" and "samayam" in the pallavi. The interlude is so melodious that this song again will leave us immersed in the song. The songs hops up and down with the lyrics bringing a nice effect. The rhythm reminds of a old song, but it ends there. The hero is lyrics and Kranthi should have elevated the song but she just does her job. Longest song of the movie album. But doesnt feel that it is so long. The song mentions Mallela teeram is visible, which has to do with the movie. I guess this song comes as bits in the movie, thats why this might be such long.

5. Pilla Galula Pallakilo[3:10]
Artist(s): Lipsika
Lyricist: Uma Maheswar Rao

Lipsika Bhashyam from Paadutaa teeyaga, has gone miles ahead in terms of singing. Though she sang a dozen of songs so far, Poola Rangadu gave a bigger share and she is slowly getting there in terms of overall share of female singers. However her voice is still hasnt become commercial which has added to this song. Her voice is still pure, unaltered brings good feel for this song. She does justice to this song. Earlier song has veena, this has flute with simple rhythm. A perfect Telugu song and tune. Uma Maheswara Rao is a perfect fit to be a single card lyricist for this movie. So far he has done perfect job for a romantic movie. His words are simple yet touching.

6. Title (Theme)[2:27]Artist(s): Instrumental
Not just the hero, Who doesnt like Malle poovulu? We all do. This movie team has provided melodious mallepoolu ( swachamaina peratilo poosina malle poolu ) interms of songs and kudos to the team.

7. Antharmukham (Theme)[2:08]Artist(s): Pranavi

నేను ఏ అందమైన మనిషిని కలిసినా నాకు తోడుగా ఒక పాట  ఉంటుంది. కాని తనని చూసినప్పుడు ప్రపంచమే పాటగా అనిపించింది. This sets the mood of the song. The humming continues with this feel.  This dialog and theme tells us that a sensuous movie is in the making. Pranavi is good.

8. Advaitham (Theme)[2:36]Artist(s): Sri Soumya

నువ్వు కావాలనే కోరికలో నన్ను నేను కొల్పొయాను. వెనక్కి తిరిగి చూస్తె నేను లేను, అదే అద్వైతం అయితే ఆ స్తితి నీలో పొందాను. So beautifully written. hats off to the team for bringing such heart touching dialogs and as usual well thought and made. The theme then continues with the same feeling. Visuals should be fantastic for this music.

9. Matakandani (Theme)[2:08]Artist(s): Instrumental

This theme is for the song that was sung by Nityasantoshini.

10. Mallelatheeram (Theme)[3:17]Artist(s): Instrumental

The referene to Rama/Sita is inevitable for any pair in any story. The dialog was said perfectly. After a long time a movie is made with some theme music which is equivalent to number of songs and dominate the songs. They should elevate the visuals to new heights if actors support the music. Given the way the album is made it just re-iterates the fact that this is going to be visual treat as well.

Pick(s) of the album: Entire Album for Melody, theme based music lovers, who wish to listen to pure Telugu songs..

This music certainly impresses the movie lovers as it is well made for the movie. This music displays the mood, theme, emotions rightly for the movie. The lyrics are perfectly written. Singers do good justice to the song. Surprisingly it is all female singers except for one song by karunya who sings a lullaby probably for female lead. So subtle and gentle the songs doesnt strain the ears, few of them touches the heart. The theme music and the dialogs are well thought, said, sung and made. As said many times, any romantic movie should be rightly assisted by music to elevate the scenes and this perfectly does it. The songs and theme music totals to 36 minutes which is almost 1/3 of the movie leaves a good feeling towards the movie. It now depends upon the actors, story teller to reach this music to audience.

Om 3D - Audio Review

Movie:        OM - 3D (Telugu - 2013)
Producer:   Kalyanram
Direction:   Kalyanram
Cast:           Kalyanram, Kriti Karbanda,
Music:        K.Sai Karthik, Achu

KalyanRam started off his career with a bang in terms of Athanokkade, but ever since then he is struggling to make it huge, though on and off he is tasting minor successes. His passion towards movies never faded away. He is sincere in his attempts and his passion is unquestionable. However there are many factors that kept him away to make it huge. He made a mark in the industry just with his passion.

This movie is boasted as first action 3D film in India. It takes some guts to make such movie and spend so much money on himself in self direction. That shows his love towards movies. Kalyanram's movies werent such huge music hits in his film career although there were decent hits. Manisharma took the major pie from his movies, RP Patnaik, Chakri and Srikath Deva were other directors. This time two persons worked for this movie, K Sai Karthik and Achu, both are yet to make it big. K Sai Karthik recently launched "Paisa", Starring Nani, the movie of Krishna Vamsi.  This album consists of a promo song and a Theme music which reduces the number to four that are routine songs. Lyrics department looks fine. B Subbaraya Sarma Dont think he is the character artist.  Ramajoggayya means there will be a multilingual mass song. Singers are again pretty standard now a days. Baba Sehgal for sure is making a lot in Telugu now a days, not sure whether he gets that many chances in Hindi or not. Anyways lets see how the songs fare for the much interest generated movie.

1. Promo Song[2:40]
Artist(s): Baba Sehgal
Lyricist: B. Subbaraya Sharma

Song on Hero, has to be powerful. However since the lyrics are powerful, the voice and sound of the song should be powerful too. The song starts with a high energy tune, then Baba Sehgal tries to says words which doesnt mean anything for him, but for us it should make sense, unfortunately doesnt. Too much వ్యధ, రొద. His voice is not heard properly, the music overtook the singer and his lack of clarity makes it worse. All it is that we hear some music and with OM in between and ends with the same. Since its promo song, shouldnt matter for movie. Tune wise no issues, but some minute details like providing clarity to words and instruments would have made this song more listenable.

2. Cheliya[3:27]
Artist(s): Achu, Ramya Nsk
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry
Any song that has stamp of Sirivennela proves his versatality. Achu's stylish singing can be ignorable. In the sound oriented songs, the lyric is lost. Cant understand even a bit of what Sirivennela has written. Coming to the tune, for sure is catchy, interludes are nice though remind some other song. Again the song lacks clarity, the recording could have been better. This song is much better made. Except for the orchestration and some issues in Achu's singing, this song will work.

3. Right Now[2:59]
Artist(s): Baba Sehgal, Bindhu Mahima
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

RJS is back with his trademark multilingual lyric. Baba Sehgal singing his part of rap and other stuff. Suddenly beat changes in between, to make it more beat oriented. This song has variety in terms of mix and matching everything as Mama was ordered to do it. The tune, beat, rap and style are changed. Bindu Mahima twisted and turned the words didnt bring the right effect. She said right now, but after that many words are very hard to get. Baba Sehgal did better in this song, may be due to his trademark tune/singing.

4. Holi Holi[3:30]
Artist(s): Ranjith, Priya Himesh
Lyricist: Kedarnath

This song is highy energetic. The beats and lyrics will bring in holi mood. Priya Himesh seemed to have less energy compared to Ranjith in second stanza, however it is covered by chorus and Ranjith. Highly addictive beats, extremely energetic chorus, electrifying interludes.  Kedarnath filled in some rhyming words. If rightly choreographed and performed the visuals of this song should be a treat. Not sure how Kalyanram will fare in this song.

5. Endukila[4:00]
Artist(s): Haricharan, Chinmayee
Lyricist: Balaji
Good to see Chinmayee in this movie. She is extremely talented and gifted. Her voice aptly suited this song. However like other songs, instruments were loud enough to over shadow the female singer. Haricharan in second stanza was not so pleasant to hear. A soft melody with a slower tempo would have been much better while keeping instruments simpler. But still this song is fine. Movie might add some value to this song.

6. OM Theme[2:22]
Artist(s): Sai Charan, Dinker
Lyricist: Sahithi
Why Lyricist is named as Sahithi for this song when all it contains is "అసతోమ జ్యోతిర్గమయ..." The theme music generally aid the visuals. Unless the visuals are seen, it is very difficult to say whether the theme music made an impact or not. The theme was done alright. Need to see how it fares on the screen.

Pick(s) of the album: Cheliya, Holi Holi, to some extent Endukilaa

Since this is a 3D movie, the focus will be on action and visuals, might not be on songs. However Sai Karthik and Achu need to do a good job for re-recording which is very critical for these kind of movies. Kalyanram got should have been happy with music's output as there were not much expectations. Though there is not much to say about the music which is extra ordinary or to make it big, two decent songs and couple of others might help the music over all. Kalyanram is going to create history when movie releases, Wish the team all the very best for the success of the movie and the hard work they have put in.

Iddarammayilato - Audio Review

Movie: Iddarammayilatho (Telugu - 2013)
Producer:    Bandla Ganesh
Direction:    Poori Jagannadh
Cast:            Allu Arjun, Amala Paul, Catherine Tresa
Music:          Devi Sri Prasad

Allu arjun's first movie in 2013 is Iddarammayalato, directed by Puri Jagannadh. Both worked togather in 2007 for Desamuduru. Allu Arjun had a decent run at box office with Trivikram Srinivas made Julayi, On contrast Puri is not having a decent run with his last two movies, Cameraman Ganga to Rambabu and Devudu chesina Manushulu bit the dust not being upto the mark movies. Then the movie producer Bandla Ganesh is currently the prime producer working with all Top heros and has a latest hit with Tarak. Obviously the expectations are very high on this movie and the release of this is planned to be with maximum screens. This movie seems like underwent many changes, first with Music Director, Chakri who is thought initially was replaced by DSP. Then Tapsee Pannu was signed as second lead, then replaced by Richa Gangopadhyay and finally Catherine Tresa was finalized as second lead.
DSP-Allu Arju combination was always special. DSP scored music for 1/3 of the movies of Allu Arju and all of them pretty much worked very well. However with changing trends in music and people need to see what this combination is upto. With Bandla Ganesh and Puri Jagannadh at commanding position, we are assured that they dont demand good music as Puri's movies never had consistently great music and with Ganesh's background, he doesnt either.
The total 5 songs ( 1 remix ) sounds good, if music is good, we dont have issues, as we can keep repeating listening to same songs. However if the music is not upto the mark, we have one less song to hear and get a relief. One surprise element in this album is Apache Indian. The Goan, who once was very much popular for his one man army music and rap is almost a forgotten name. For a change DSP brought in Apache for Baba Sehgal, our prayers were answered I guess, but Apache is cool surprise. Need to see what he did in this album. I dont remember he sang any Telugu song till now in his career, which is very surprise how when our Film Industry brought every other Bollywood singer, how come they spared Apache.
Anyway 5 short songs, lets quickly see how DSP/Arjun treated us.
01 - Ganapathi Bappa Moriya
Singer(s): Sooraj Jagan
Lyric(s): Bhaskarabhatla
Starting an album with Song on Ganapathi is always treated as a good sign, but it doesn't happen this time. "Nirvignam kurume deva" was strained and stretched to the core that it is totally a big turn off. Bungee jump was heard as Bajji jump. Sooraj had struggled to sing Telugu. The "Ha Ha" in the middle of the song was way way off. Lately without fusion or sneeking in western music into, no song is made. Seems like Hero's introduction song, as this has some tips on what do with obstacles such as mountain, sea and others, basically what is Ganapathy bappa moria is all about. Totally aimed at youth and fans. Success of this song depends upon them.
02: Run Run
Singer(s): Apache Indian, Sharmila
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry

If not Baba Sehgal, its Apache, there is no difference songs all sound the same. ఎదురైనా should be pronounced as ద its ఎడురైన. In english, both are written same. This means no one were present at recording. Anyways, what else can Apache sing? Seems like the rap in between is written by Sharmila. Not sure what is this fancy of making songs with these rap song which makes no meaning other than some thing to appeal youth. As rightly said, గజి బిజీ బుర్రలోన సుడోకు puzzle ఉంటాది. Of course this is the puzzle we get when we hear such songs. There are many ways this song can be done better without getting Ayaasam ( as sounded in between the song ). Running makes one get exhausted. Sure people will feel that they need to got to run to win womans heart instead of wasting time on this song.On other hand DSP tried out different to appeal youth and mass in the name of variety all depends on how fans/youth like this song.
03 - Shankara Bharanam Tho
Singer(s): Mano, Suchith Suresh, Ranina
Lyrics: DSP
As the movie backdrop tells, the introduction is done by foreigners, and the movie story says that this is picturized on Brahmanandam. DSP scores a routine song which is presented smoothly by Mano until, DSP let the dogs out  ( kind of music ). And then mixes and matches the song left and right between Mano and Suchith&Co. This song goes up and down as the song progresses.when DSP asks "Do you want some music", we would like to reply back saying why not DSP only if you only can provide some. :)

04 - Top Lesi Podi
Singer(s): Sagar, Geeta Madhuri
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla

Ammayi manasulo abbayi dooresi kita kitale petteste, emaitaadi, manchi beat vastaadi, pichi paata vastaadi.. This is what the words of first line of the song. The chorus made is so different with their fake style and accent, again in the name of the youth. I hate when some one sings with fake accent. However as said in song the good beats didnt come, top lechi poledu, as end result pichi song aithe vachindi. The beats are same old DSP style, the tune is same old same old.

Then Bhaskarbhatla goes with all kinds of comparision all aimed at masses. Sagar is masked by chorus and Geeta Madhuri is different. Purely composed for Allu Arjun's dancing skills and masses, may be some corner for fans. If they enjoy this song makes the mark with them.
05 - Violin
Singer(s): David Simon, Anitha
Lyrics: Viswa, David Simon

Complete trade mark tune from DSP who is known for a signature tune in each movie. Glad that he didnt forget what he is capable of. Reminds Ilayaraja type tune. Having said that after the fantastic impressive violin bit rest is business is as usual. The extraa bit end of each "taa" in the name of youth is not very good to listen. Male singer lacks clarity to hear.

Vennello todu avutaa, Varsham lo Needa laaga unta, what kind of imagination it is? Will there be shadow in Rain? Does it mean there is no love existing? Prema anche choopista, means he is going to show the end of the love? Shouldnt the love be endless?  Adding some fancy words doesnt make a song. Not sure what these lyricists are about.

Keeping all these asides, this is a typical trademark song of DSP should be topping charts for a while. Depends upon the how the song goes in the movie.

06 - Run Run (Remix)
Singer(s): DSP, Apache Indian
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry

Apache did what he is famous for during the start of the song, his rap, but then DSP with his odd sounding singing messed up the song. It sounded like he is so reckless singing this song with saritical voice, single handedly messed up the song. The beats, chorus and the rap just didnt work at all as they were really running as high paced rap song. DSP should have taken enough care for this song. Totally wasted effort.
Pick(s) of the album: Violin Bit, Run Run ( not remix )
With changing times, music department in movie making has definetely taken back seat. The priorities of film has changed for sure. Most of the film making is targetted towards youth, fans who are major factors for movie collections. So to ensure commercial success of movie, ensuring they are satisfied is a must. These target audience dont understand what a song is all about some sensible lyrics with hidden meaning/message, excellent singing, melodies or fine tunes, good instumentation/orchestration, nice voices that can be heard repeatedly and so on. All they need is some beats they can tap their feet and some catchy phrases to croon. So the movie makers who dont have enough knowledge making movies are just focusing on the target audience to make money and move on. Lyricists are accompanying in this process dancing to the tunes of these movie makers. This is such a sad state the film industry is now. Truth is always bitter.
DSP and Allu Arjun provided the lowest quality album in their combination. They might have met the expectations of youth, fans and movie requirements, but they didnt meet what they are known for, They for sure disappoint the music lovers. The only advantage that DSP has is he is miles ahead compared to other music directors, but if he starts listening to non-value add producers and directors, he will easily catch up with the rest by coming down to their level which he needs to not let it happen.

Thadakha - Audio Review

Movie:         Thadakha(Telugu - 2013)
Producer:    Bellamkonda Suresh
Direction:    Kishore Kumar Pardasani
Cast:            NagaChaitanya, Sunil, Tamanna, Andrea
Music:          Thaman SS

Nagachaitanya's latest film directed by Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam fame Kishore kumar Pardasani, stars Sunil, Tamanna and Andrea as co-starts. This film is being produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. This film is said to be remake of Tamil successful film "Vettai" directed by Lingusamy. During Greekuveerudu Audio function, Chaitanya told his fans that 2013 would be a feast with many films lined up. This should be a good start for that statement as the trailers looks fine. With Sunil lending a helping hand and director who was sensible with his earlier film, should make his statement a real.

Kishore Kumar proved with his earlier film that he has a very good music taste as that film had tremendously fantastic songs composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, songs written by Sirivennela were feast to listen. However this movie having Thaman is showing that the director deviated from his benchmark by providing a different music. This movie's lyrics department was handled by Bhaskarabhatla and Ramajogayya Sastry. With these two names and Thaman controlling the music, songs will have to beat and mass oriented. We cannot expect melody or classic songs. Thaman has been consistent enough to provide template music and he never deviated from his templates. Lets see how he did though we know expecting any thing from him is not something he would like neither we. Singers are again standard payroll singers except for Neeti Mohan and MM Maanasi. He offered 5 songs only, which is a good relief. Lets not wait much time and get into the details of the songs.

1. Nuvvu Nenu Bomma[4:05]
Singer(s): Tippu, Ranjith
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar

Thaman Sir, how can you be so consistent. No one ever can come close to your consistency. Seems like song on Chaitanya and Sunil. Thaman's favorite instruments are all over the place, yet there is nothing in this song that worth mention other than being reminding us different songs. బాణం not భానం again its చప్పుడు not చ్చప్పుడు. Inspite of singing more than decade, these singers can never improve. This is very disappointing. Tippu and Ranjith are seasoned singers, singing wise they shouldnt have any issues.

2. Viyyalavaru[4:40]
Singer(s):  Neeti Mohan, Sooraj, MM. Manasi
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

Once again standard beats from Thaman to start his song. The female singer needs to be eliminated from Telugu Industry as soon as possible. They way she broke the words is horrible to listen. Never heard a good song from RJS. I think he became full time lyricist resigning his job, He should have more time to write some meaningful lyrics but he doesnt do that. Atleast once in a while wanted to see some good song from him. Singers disappoint in this song. Thaman doesnt.

3. Subhanallah[3:09]
Singer(s):  Karthik, Priya Hemesh
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

Surprisingly a short song. One more typical template music from Thaman. Not sure why no one is getting bored of hearing same tunes again and again. Since songs are available for free to listen, people are listening. Wonder what if they are for price. I really want to know who would want to buy and listen to these songs. Karthik struggled a lot singing this song. He is not his usual self. Priya Hemesh has nothing to do in this song.

4. Mara O Mara[3:04]
Singer(s):  Suchith Suresan, MM. Manasi
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

Listening to this song will tell what we are going to listen the entire album. Also we dont need to guess who has written and who made this song. One more template music from Thaman and RJS Sastry. Somehow lately Thaman's songs doesnt appear like songs any more. Singers read the lines with some background music and that music never changes. I think Thaman should have Suchith in his album either suresan or suchitra. Some how this album has very short length songs. Thaman gets inspired from every where for every note he made for this song which is not unusual for him. The singers kill the words in their style. The multilingual lyricist writes whatever he wants. Not sure why the team wasted their energy in making these songs, picturize it and add cost to producer when their is nothing to offer to viewer or listener.

5. Gana Gana Bottu[3:54]
Singer(s):  Haricharan, Priyadarshini
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

This song brings lots of questions to everyone associated to this song. What they were thinking making these type of songs which doesnt bring any value to the song or singers or music director. Thaman's capabilities should be known by now. He cannot offer any different. The interludes proves that, the tune proves that. Just to add the movie title they added Thadakha or based on this song, they named the movie is unknown. Thaman is getting money for what ever he is doing so he will not stop. Its upto movie industry to uplift the music department which has stooped all time low. Haricharan and Priyadarshini doesnt offer anything to us either

Pick(s) of the album: Strictly for fans of anyone in this movie, rest can easily ignore this album

Thaman has decided to remain as one of the low quality music directors in the Telugu film history and be consistent enough in that. Let him do that as long as he is getting money for doing what ever he want. So we cannot do much about that. Telugu music has always been on high time and currently this is the lowest time it can ever see. Things cannot go any lower than this. Music lovers can only hope for the best and keep listening to the best songs that the industry has given in the past and keep ignoring these kind of albums. Everything takes some time. So be patient. Good times will come.
