When any movie music releases and you see Thaman S as Music director, you know the result. He doesnt let down anyone's expectations as he has his unique style and sticks to it, He gives the same music any time so that you dont get suprised. Most of his songs are very loud, singers voices are given falceto effect, most of the time the orchestrization is similar. So there is no disappointment at all. However each time a music is released for a high profile movie, there will be some expectations, so lets see how Thaman fares this time.
Songs Review
1. Body Guard
Artist(s): Baba Sehgal, Ramya, Naveen Madhav
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar
As song suggests it talks about the title song of the movie. He starts the with a much familiar tune and then reminds vennela song, (east kante west). Ee title song ki Baba Sehgal ekkada dorikaado. Then Thaman goes on with a music quiz to identify the tune kind of puzzle. Lyrics are not upto the mark.
2. Hosannaa
Artist(s): Rahul Nambiar, Sri Vardhini
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram
This movie has titles of already famous songs, Hosanna is one along with jiya jaley,, Female voice ki falceto ento Thaman should know better. Rahul started on a bad note, suprised to see for this kind of music. Male voice was turn off for this song singer choice would have been better. Other wise its a good attempt by Thaman. Only grace for this song is Ananth Sriram's lyrics. Thaman has to learn about what it takes to give a nice melody which can last long. Just a tune doesnt help.
3. O My God
Artist(s): Geetha Madhuri, Bindu
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram
Again the passion of Thaman never goes away for his music. He utilizes it to maximum extent. Its like if one song has ABCDEFG, he makes another song with ABCDEHI...Thaman doesnt deviate from his standards.. One less song to listen..
4. Yevvaro
Artist(s): Karthik
Lyricist: Sri Mani
This song brings great relief compared to all other songs so far. Karthik's effortless rendering adds value to the song. Sri Mani lyrics are compatible. Good overall effort by the team for this song.
5. Jiyajaley
Artist(s): Haricharan, Harini
Lyricist: Rama Jhogaya Sastry
Two in a row is always better, though lacks freshness one more decent effort by the team. Singers did their job. Not sure why most of the songs doesnt appear to be original effort and reminds of one or other song. However this song will be played for some repeated hearing in Radio.
6. Endhukoo
Artist(s): Thaman. S, Haricharan
Lyricist: Rama Jhogaya Sastry
Seems like an extension song and titles are wrong. Anything more will backfire, the false voice is sometimes irritating.. Thaman if he sang himself as per the track list, it didnt suit well. Good that this song length is only 2:12..
Thaman has many areas to improve if he plans to stay long in this music world. He is getting chances even though he gives average stuff is because of low cost and quick turn over which is more than enough for many producers. However to be a successful director, to be noted and reckoned, he has to deliver. Giving this kind of music will not lead him anywhere. Hope he improves and stays here for long.
This is another average album with 2 songs worth listening. Some times music doesnt have any impact on success of movie, but most of the time it does. Unless Thaman delivers music which adds value to movie, we get to hear same music. Bodyguard movie will not have any added advantage with the music.
Pick(s) of the album: Yevvaro and Jiyajaley..
The reviews and articles are very good Really enjoying them. Keep up the good work.
